In 2020, G Mining Ventures (GMIN) was created to acquire direct ownership of projects and capitalize on the value uplift that successful mine development offers.

In July 2024, GMIN acquired the Oko West project. The Oko West Project is a new gold discovery in northwest Guyana. It is located south of the historical “Oko” gold district, some 95 km west of Georgetown.



To ensure the achievement of this large-scale project, G Mining Ventures is looking for an experienced and motivated individual to fill the position of:


Tire Specialist


We are looking for a reliable and detail-oriented Tire Specialist (Tire Man) to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the inspection, repair, and replacement of tires on a variety of vehicles, ensuring customer safety and satisfaction. This role requires excellent mechanical skills, a strong work ethic, and a commitment to providing high-quality service. 


Key Areas of Responsibility & Duties


  • Tire Installation & Removal:

Install and remove tires on vehicles, including passenger cars, trucks, and commercial vehicles, using appropriate tools and equipment.

  • Tire Repair:

Inspect and repair damaged tires, including patching punctures, fixing valve stems, and balancing tires.

  • Tire Balancing & Rotation:

Perform tire balancing, rotation, and alignment as necessary, ensuring optimal performance and longevity of the tires.

  • Tire Inspections:

Conduct thorough inspections of tires for wear and damage, providing customers with detailed assessments and recommendations.

  • Customer Service:

Communicate with customers to explain tire conditions, offer appropriate solutions, and recommend tire replacements or repairs.

  • Inventory Management:

Assist with maintaining tire inventory, ensuring adequate stock levels of various tire sizes and brands.

  • Safety Compliance:

Follow all safety protocols while using equipment and handling tires. Ensure the workplace is clean and organized, maintaining high safety standards at all times.

  • Tool and Equipment Maintenance:

Maintain and clean tire-changing equipment, tools, and machinery regularly to ensure proper function


Qualifications/Skills and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent with previous experience in tire installation, repair, or maintenance
  • At least 3-3 years working experience 
  • Basic knowledge of vehicle mechanics and tire types.
  • Ability to work with tire-changing equipment and other hand tools.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to assess tire conditions accurately.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Good communication and customer service skills.
  • Must be able to lift heavy tires and perform physical tasks.


Working Conditions:

  • Position based at the OKO Project site.
  • Work Schedule – 14 days on 7 days Off
  • Transport, accommodations, and meals provided on site.
