In 2020, G Mining Ventures (GMIN) was created to acquire direct ownership of projects and capitalize on the value uplift that successful mine development offers. In July 2024, GMIN acquired the Oko West Project. The Oko West Project is a new gold discovery in northwest Guyana. It is located south of the historical “Oko” gold district, some 95 km west of Georgetown.

To ensure the achievement of this large-scale project, G Mining Ventures is looking for an experienced and motivated individual to fill the position of: Maintenance Planner


Job Summary

The Maintenance Planner is responsible for developing, coordinating, and monitoring maintenance plans for mobile and fixed plant equipment in a mining environment. This role ensures the effective scheduling of preventive and corrective maintenance activities to minimize equipment downtime and support the safe, efficient operation of the mine.


Key Responsibilities


•    Develop and maintain detailed maintenance plans and schedules for all mining equipment and facilities.
•    Coordinate with maintenance supervisors, engineers, and operations teams to plan and prioritize maintenance work.
•    Prepare work orders, job scopes, and necessary documentation for preventive and corrective maintenance tasks.
•    Ensure availability of required parts, tools, and labor for scheduled maintenance activities.
•    Use Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to track maintenance activities and equipment history.
•    Monitor equipment performance and identify opportunities for reliability improvements.
•    Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements during maintenance planning.
•    Analyze maintenance data and generate reports to support continuous improvement initiatives.
•    Coordinate shutdown planning and execution for major repairs or overhauls.
•    Maintain effective communication between departments to ensure minimal disruption to production operations.


Qualifications Skills and Experience 

  • Diploma or degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering, or related technical field.
  • 3–5 years of experience in maintenance planning, preferably in the mining or heavy industrial sector.


Additional Qualifications – Competency Requirements

  • Strong knowledge of maintenance practices, reliability engineering, and mining equipment.
  • Proficient in CMMS platforms (e.g., SAP, Pronto).
  • Solid understanding of maintenance workflows and inventory management.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to coordinate across teams.


Working Conditions

Work Schedule – 14 days on/7 days Off
