In 2020, G Mining Ventures (GMIN) was created to acquire direct ownership of projects and capitalize on the value uplift that successful mine development offers. In July 2024, GMIN acquired the Oko West project. The Oko West Project is a new gold discovery in northwest Guyana. It is located south of the historical “Oko” gold district, some 95 km west of Georgetown.
To ensure the achievement of this large-scale project, G Mining Ventures is looking for an experienced and motivated individual to fill the position of:
Heavy Duty Planner
The Heavy Duty Planner is responsible for planning and coordinating maintenance activities for heavy-duty equipment and machinery. This includes scheduling maintenance, repairs, and inspections, ensuring optimal equipment performance, and minimizing downtime. The role requires a solid understanding of heavy-duty mechanical systems and strong organizational skills to ensure the efficient operation of equipment.
Key Responsibilities
Maintenance Planning:
- Develop and maintain detailed plans for preventive maintenance, repairs, and major overhauls for heavy-duty equipment.
Scheduling:
- Coordinate and schedule maintenance activities to minimize equipment downtime while ensuring safety and compliance with operational goals.
Resource Allocation:
- Ensure the availability of necessary tools, parts, and labor for maintenance activities, working closely with maintenance teams, vendors, and suppliers.
Budget Management:
- Assist in the preparation and management of maintenance budgets, ensuring that maintenance costs are controlled.
Technical Support:
- Provide technical support to maintenance teams, addressing any issues related to heavy-duty equipment performance.
Compliance and Safety:
- Ensure all maintenance procedures comply with industry regulations and company safety standards.
Documentation:
- Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections, and update maintenance management systems.
Root Cause Analysis:
- Work with maintenance teams to identify and resolve equipment issues by analyzing trends, breakdown data, and root causes.
Coordination:
- Work closely with operations and maintenance teams to ensure that equipment is ready and available for production or operational use.
Continuous Improvement:
- Recommend and implement improvements to increase the efficiency and reliability of the equipment.
Qualifications/Skills and Experience
- Minimum Technical Certificate with strong knowledge of heavy-duty equipment, scheduling, planning, organizational and time management skills.
- At least 2-5 years’ experience in a similar role.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
- Attention to detail and high accuracy in data entry and record-keeping.
Working Conditions
- Position based at the OKO Project site.
- Work Schedule – 14 days on 7 days Off
