Position Summary: We are currently seeking a Director of Human Resources to join our leadership team. This position provides professional level planning, reporting and analysis to support the goals and objectives of the organization; resolves conflicts to protect the organization’s assets; provides expertise and recommendations to support management decisions. Ensures HR activities are in compliance with applicable laws. Oversees all HR functions including recruitment, immigration, compensation and payroll processing, pension and benefits, learning and development, employee relations, employee engagement, and maintaining all personnel records in files and the HRIS system.



Duties, Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Manage the full Employee Lifecycle: Work with Department heads to identify needs for positions, crafting/updating job descriptions, coordination of advertising, management of the interview process, crafting and presenting offers; Terminations
  • Manage the full payroll cycle and benefits accounting across multiple pay frequencies (weekly, bi-monthly, monthly) and divisions ensuring accurate, compliant and timely processing of all payroll and benefits activities
  • Liaise with the Club Controller to maintain and reconcile all payroll and benefits deductions and expenses and other statutory remittances
  • Manage the HR Assistant and Payroll Administrator as a direct report, setting annual goals and conducting performance evaluations
  • Responsible for the onboarding and offboarding processes, including the New Hire Orientation and Department Heads for departmental orientation
  • Manage the Immigration work permit process for new applications as well as renewals
  • Manage Employee Relations, supporting Department Heads and Managers, as required
  • Coordination and attendance at the annual Hospitality Job Fair for Season Recruitment
  • Manage Colleague Appreciation events and initiatives
  • Oversee Staff Notice Boards
  • Manage Employee Assistance Program
  • Manage Employee benefits – medical, dental, pension
  • Oversee the payroll function
  • Manage Colleague attendance along with department heads
  • Co-ordinate monthly training programs
  • Attend Daily Stand-up Meeting and weekly Manager’s meeting
  • Create annual budget for the Human Resources function
  • Reports/Surveys for Government
  • Stay current with all government policies regarding employment
  • Performs other duties as assigned, requested or deemed necessary by the General Manager.



Required Skills, Knowledge, and Experience:

The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that he or she can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of knowledge, skills, and abilities:

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources management, or related field with a minimum of 7 years of relevant experience as a senior Business Partner
  • An HR accredited certification, preferred
  • Experience with BambooHR and Blue Bison operating systems, a plus
  • Detail oriented with a strong understanding of payroll systems, employment and pension legislations and time-sensitive processing
  • Knowledge of the Bermuda Employment Act 2000 as amended
  • Requires excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
