Position Description:
The position executes tasks to support filling, packaging, inventory and house-keeping activities.
Scope of tasks to be executed is as per instruction by the Production Coordinator.
Major Areas of Responsibility
- Filling all product containers
- Package all product
- Unloading of shipping containers
- Assist with the storage of drummed and bagged items
- Execution of sideman duties on the delivery vehicles
- Provide man-power support as per instruction given by the Team Lead/Production Coordinator/Manager
- Execute house-keeping tasks and support the general maintenance of the daily GMP programme in the Plant.
- Specific Responsibilities of the Job:
PRODUCT CONTAINER FILLING
Retrieve the required amount of containers form storage area
Ensure scale clean and working
Fill container as per work order provided by the Production Coordinator
Ensure containers are filled to the correct weight
After the quantities filled are verified by the Team Lead, carry the containers to the
packaging area.
PRODUCT PACKAGING
- Label containers using labels supplied by the Team Lead
- Ensure the labels are neatly applied and in the correct orientationInspect labels to ensure the batch number is printed
- For SKUs packaged in trays, arrange containers correctly in their respective trays.
- Enclose each tray of product with stretch wrap, then seal using a heater
- After the amount is finished product is verified by the Team Lead, carry them to the
Finished Goods Store Room.
- Assist the Team Lead to place them on their assigned shelf
UNLOADING SHIPPING CONTAINERS
Cut seals from the doors of the container
With the support of the forklift, cautiously open the container doors.
Remove items from the container and place them on wholesome pallets.
After container is emptied, sweep out the container to remove all residual matter
WAREHOUSING
Assist in retrieving stored goods in situations when the forklift driver requires support.
Place all material received (except labels) on pallet before storage
Assist with the weighing of drummed materials, as per Team Lead instruction, before
storage.
Stack materials on pallets in a manner that facilitate stability and optimal storage, as
approved by the Production Coordinator.
DELIVERY OF GOODS
- Remove excess soil from drums by wiping with a clean cloth
- Ensure goods are secured inside the delivery vehicle
- Assist in the loading of goods into a clean delivery vehicle
- Position the goods as per instruction given by the driver
- Ensure the goods are secured in a manner that will prevent toppling, spillage, and/or damage to packaging/container.
- In the case of drums, ensure the drums appear clean before it is loaded unto the delivery vehicle
- Accompany driver on all delivery assignments
- Be alert at all times to assist driver in avoiding any unwanted incident
- During positioning of delivery vehicle for delivery or other parking purposes, stand on the outside in a position that will give the driver assistance to effectively park without causing an accident.
- Assist with the issuing of goods to the customer.
- Monitor the goods during delivery to safeguard goods against any unwanted incidents.
- At the end of the delivery day, the vehicle interior must be cleaned in preparation for the next delivery day.
WEIGHING ITEMS
Operate electronic scale
Weigh incoming drummed items as instructed by Team Lead
Weigh part drums as instructed by Team Lead
Weigh raw materials for product blending process
Weigh items during stock count exercise
HOUSE KEEPING
Sweep warehouse floor to remove excess soil from debris and dirt
Clean table surface and wipe machines/mixers to remove any soil present
Wash floor in production area
Return un-used materials to their respective storage area.
Ensure materials are stored in a manner that will prevent damage / contamination
Return tools to the storage board or tool pan
STOCK COUNTS SUPPORT
Assist in stock counts as per instruction from the Production Coordinator
Assist with any re-count or other verification tasks necessary
MACHINE CARE SUPPORT
Report to the Team Lead or Production Coordinator any malfunction or defect observed with machines or other support systems (pipelines, electrical circuits, infrastructure, etc.)
Report unsafe use of machine to the Team Lead or Production Coordinator.
Clean machines to remove any observed soil (dirt, grease, raw material, product, etc.)
Job Requirements

Education and Experience
- Secondary education
- Minimum 3 CSEC subjects preferred
Physical Demands
Job entails standing for extended periods of time
Warehouse conditions such as high temperatures and some dust
Required to wear safety shoes and sometimes other safety gears
Required to lift products with weight up to 50 lbs.
Required to move around filled 55-gallon drums
