As a Pastry Cook, you are responsible for following the directions and instructions of the Pastry Chef.

 

Duties and Responsibilities


Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

  • Preparing high-end desserts, à la carte menu items, and homemade-style breads and pastries, including muffins, scones, cupcakes, cookies, breakfast breads, and more.
  • Preparing all menu items according to recipes and yield guides, following company standards.
  • Following the Pastry Chef’s instructions and directions.
  • Maintaining a clean and safe workstation at all times.
  • Taking direction from the Sous Chef, Senior Sous Chef, and Head Chef.
  • Ensuring that the production, preparation, and presentation of food meet the highest quality standards at all times, maintaining high levels of guest satisfaction, quality, and operating and food costs.
  • Properly and safely maintaining the cleanliness and working condition of all tools, equipment, and supplies.
  • Periodically checking the expiry dates and proper storage of food items in your section.
  • Strictly adhering to Cayman Islands sanitation, health, and safety laws.
  • Following proper preservation standards for the handling and storage of food products at the appropriate temperatures.
  • Ensuring effective communication among staff by maintaining a secure and friendly environment.
  • Establishing and maintaining effective inter-departmental working relationships.
  • Serving customers in a pleasant and professional manner.
  • Learning about menu items and daily specials to effectively present them to customers.
  • Ensuring your workspace, equipment, and utensils are clean and organized at all times.
  • Upholding the company’s cleanliness standards.
  • Maintaining an immaculate personal presentation and uniform at all times.
  • Adhering to all relevant health, safety, and hygiene standards.
  • Staying organized and effectively managing your workspace.
  • Providing feedback and reporting issues as they arise.
  • Consistently displaying a “can-do” attitude.
  • Performing other related duties as assigned by management.
  • Carrying out any other tasks required by management.
