Our client is seeking an experienced Human Resources Officer to join their team! This role is ideal for a proactive HR professional who thrives in a fast-paced, hands-on environment and has a strong understanding of HR operations, compliance, and workforce management.
About the Role:
The Human Resources Officer will play a key role in managing HR functions, ensuring compliance with labour laws, supporting employee relations, and overseeing recruitment, payroll coordination, and training initiatives.
Recruitment & Onboarding
- Manage job postings, interviews, and hiring processes.
- Conduct employee onboarding and ensure proper documentation.
Performance & Employee Relations
- Support performance reviews and track employee development.
- Handle employee concerns, disciplinary actions, and grievance processes.
Payroll & Benefits Administration
- Process payroll updates, leave requests, and benefits administration.
- Manage health plans, pensions, and staff allowances.
Training & Compliance
- Organize employee training sessions and maintain training records.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and labour laws.
HR Administration & Reporting
- Maintain HR records, contracts, and personnel files.
- Generate reports on attendance, salaries, and workforce planning.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Psychology, Business Administration or related field.
At least five (5) years of HR experience, with hands-on experience in multiple HR functions (recruitment, payroll, benefits administration, performance management, employee relations).
Strong knowledge of Trinidad and Tobago’s labour laws and HR best practices.
Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, HRIS, and payroll software.
Prior experience in an industrial/manufacturing environment is preferred.
