Salary: CI$67,561 to CI$92,896 | USD$81,892 to USD$111,252 (no income tax)

Overtime Eligibility: No

Work Environment: Hybrid

Corporate – Workspace is primarily in the Administrative Building

In Field – Workspace is primarily Off Site at various locations around the island

Plant Area- Workspace is primarily in the Power Plant Area

Hybrid – Workspace is a combination of in the Administrative Building and in the Field or in the Plant Area

Satellite- Workspace is at one of CUC’s satellite locations

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

       Research, design, develop and maintain new and existing materials, methods and equipment standards for all Transmission and Distribution (T&D) equipment, including Substation HV/MV equipment and power transformers, utilizing theories and principles of electrical, mechanical and civil engineering fields.

       Maintain design and construction standards for overhead and underground primary and secondary voltage lines in accordance with NESC, CSA, ANSI, IEEE or other North American standards. 

       Maintain and manage the review, production, updating and approval of T&D equipment standards, including Substation HV/MV equipment and power transformers, in support of the Standards Committee.  This should include creating a structured centralized database, with all version-controlled standards, minutes, action items and other relevant documentation.

       Manage projects to achieve the company’s plans for upgrading and maintaining the T&D and production systems.

       Authentication of designs for standard and non-standard applications as required by any regulation, Acts, and/or external agencies to gain approvals.

       Provide engineering support to Energy Operations on customer projects.  Provide general engineering support to the Energy Operations Division. Provide engineering and technical support to T&D JSAC and Work Methods committees.

       Other duties as required.

 

Requirements

Applicants should possess:

       Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Electrical specialization preferred) with a minimum of 8 years of post-degree T&D Engineering experience in countries that utilize North American T&D standards.

       Be registered or eligible to register with a professional engineering association as a Chartered or Professional Engineer.

       Demonstrated computer skills with Microsoft Office Suite Programs.

       Demonstrated skills in technical drawing package such as AUTOCAD.

       Demonstrates ability to resolve issues by analyzing and evaluating possible solutions.

       A strong working knowledge of electrical, civil and structural design.

       Possess a high level of written and verbal communication skills.
