Restaurant Supervisor
Under the general supervision of the Food and Beverage Manager, the incumbent is responsible for assisting with the day-to-day Restaurant Operations to ensure efficiency and compliance.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Interview, select, train, supervise and discipline restaurant staff for the efficient operation of the outlet.
  • To keep custody of monies in the cash pan and ensure that credit/cash transactions are settled daily.
  • Organize and conducts pre-shift/post-shift departmental meetings communicating pertinent information to the staff.
  • Ensure opening & closing duties are assigned and completed during each shift.
  • Develop, implement and monitor schedules for the operation of the Restaurant.
  • Ensure sufficient mis-en-place is available at all times to enable a smooth operation.
  • Communicate with Chef in regards to daily specials, Chef concerns & 86’d items. 
  • Continuously evaluate the performance and encourage improvement of Food and Beverage line staff.
  • Plan and administer a training (Sequence of Service) and development program within the Department, which will provide well-trained employees at all levels and permit advancement for those persons qualified and interested in career development.
  • Ensure that all Restaurant facilities and equipment are in good working order, clean & orderly. If attention is needed, ensure that Restaurant Manager is made aware of any repairs that are required.
  • Ensure that all Restaurant opening & closing times are adhered to within the time frame designated to our guests. Dining Room opens fifteen (15) minutes prior to opening and closes Ten (10) minutes after closing time.
  • Must have a strong floor presence and be present on the floor at all times during meal periods. 
  • Ensure that the Restaurant is set-up before the shift is commenced.
  • Ensure that all Food and Beverage team are at all times well attired in proper uniform and Company’s pin.
  • Ensure that breakage and losses of china and glassware are kept to a minimum.
  • Ensure that proper circulating inventory counts are completed on a weekly and monthly basis.
  • Check menus and ensure that menus are properly in place.
  • Assist the Food and Beverage Manager in reviewing and completing the team members’ performance appraisals.
  • Assist with environmental program and ensure that all lights, Air conditioning units, and other electrical units are turned off when not in use. 
  • Conduct daily and weekly inventory count.
  • In conjunction with the Food and Beverage Manager, continuously motivate the team.
Qualifications and Experience Required:
  • Undergraduate Degree in Operations Management, Food & Beverage Management or Hotel & Restaurant Management, Management Studies/Business Administration or equivalent from an accredited training institution.
  • Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in a similar position.
  • Customer service, Public Relations, and Supervisory Management training.

Specific Knowledge Required:
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Sound knowledge of the Hotel’s operations and services.
  • General Knowledge of the Hospitality sector, products and services.
